During the celebration, you will be offered two potent, earth?based rituals:

Abundance Ritual

An abundance ritual is an act of restoring our relationship with the earth. In Dagara practice, abundance is not about asking for more than what we need, but about receiving the right provisions, the steady support that arises when we live in reciprocity with the living world.

Egg Cleansing Ritual

An egg cleansing ritual is a symbolic act of purification and release rooted in the Earth’s regenerative power. This is a personal ritual, offered individually as time allows.

What to Bring

• A potluck dish to share with 8-10 people
• Small – Medium Fruits/Vegetables: oranges, apples, lemons, berries, squash, melons, potatoes, etc.
• Fresh flowers
• Quart organic milk
• Any personal offerings you enjoy sharing with Nature

Donations & Offerings: it is customary to make a monetary offering to the gatekeeper. Reciprocity to the Other World allows us to maintain the connection. Thank you!

Join us on Saturday, August 1st, for a full day of connection and celebration with the Kontomblé. Application required.

The Dagara community began and is sustained by the kontomblé/kontome/kontombili (based on translation), which many in the West view as spirit helpers, teachers or simply the little people. In fact, the kontomblé are the ancient, original elders of nature that connects us all. They exist within everything in nature – like plants, mountains, animals, and the elements – and represent the total connection to all life experiences on Earth.

The kontombili act as stabilizers to maintain balance within the human condition, either to restore health, resolve crisis or offer direction to move forward. Therefore, it’s important to maintain a connection with these forces to support our well-being and survival.

As elder Malidoma would say: “Teach me, who teaches you” – inviting us to return to the primordial elders as the key source of wisdom.

During the celebration we will invoke the kontomblé, prepare spirit medicines, and explore advanced divination techniques.

What to bring:

• Your K-figures, divination kit and other medicine tools to be “fed”
• A potluck dish to share with 8 – 10 people

Come celebrate with us!

The East Coast Village will be celebrating twenty-three (23) years of ritual, healing, and community. Every year we celebrate and acknowledge the spirit of the EARTH that has made our land sacred and allowed us to come together and has provided protection for us. 

Please plan to arrive by 9:00 am on Saturday. The ritual will start promptly at 10:00 am.
