Daughters of Tenbalu: REMEMBRANCE was born out of a deep reverence for the primordial Mother, Tenbalu, the rich cosmological wisdom of the Dagara tradition and the ancient power of women's circles. Over twelve online sessions, we walk together through a dedicated, virtual rite of passage designed to lay the unshakeable foundation for your spiritual leadership.

During the journey, we begin by stoking your inner Fire, the element of divine spirit and purpose. Under the energy of the New Moon, we set the container for your personal initiation, releasing the need for external permission, and anchoring you firmly into your Sovereign Self. Invoking the ancient, warrior and healing energy of ancient goddess archetypes, you will clarify your soul agreements and map out the energetic boundaries required to keep your Siura clear, protected, and well-resourced.
From that grounded center, we turn towards the shadow. Guided by the wild, unmasked medicine of the Nature element and the transformative Waters of personal alchemy, we gently descend into the places you’ve skillfully kept hidden.
My own journey taught me that true spiritual guides are not people who have avoided pain or discomfort; they are women who have learned to sit with their own wounds and turn them into wisdom. Together, we identify those old defensive patterns, the inherited shame, and self-sabotage that hold you back. Through deep self-compassion, you will learn to witness your own story without judgment, alchemizing your deepest challenges into your most potent spiritual medicine.
Finally, we sink our roots into the Mineral element, the element of bone, stone, and memory. Beneath the waning moon, we unweave the ancestral burdens and limiting stories that were never yours to carry. You will learn to connect directly with your elevated ancestors, reclaiming your "bone memory" and weaving your personal truth into a compelling, authentic origin story. By aligning your life and your voice with the natural, rhythmic phases of the moon, you’ll discover how to lead without burning out, honoring the essential times for resting, creating, and releasing.
By the time our twelve sessions draw to a close under the womb space of the Dark Moon, you will embody an undeniable, Earth-grounded presence. Held firmly by the goddess Tenbalu beneath you, you will stand ready to step across any threshold, fully prepared to steward community with radical integrity, cultural humility, and confidence.
The Four Movements of Remembrance
I. Remembering Your purpose
Reignite your inner fire with passion and purpose, allowing the flames to consume the noise of external expectations. Here, you are invited to restore deep somatic trust in your own inner compass, learning to listen to the subtle whispers of your ancestral spirit guides.
II. Remembering Your Lineage Medicine
Release inherited wounds, emotional friction, and internal blockages. Through the purifying, peacemaking nature of water, invite deep emotional liberation and reconciliation, allowing your asé (life force) to move fluidly without performance.
III. Remembering Your Rootedness
Embody the unconditional, nurturing vessel of Tenbalu, the earth goddess, and the foundation beneath you. Declare your sacred non-negotiables, root deeply within yourself, and build well-resourced energetic boundaries to sustain your energy.
IV. Remembering your Origins
Lift your gaze to the sacred web of existence where ancestral memory and celestial rhythm meet. Here, you step out of isolation and into the wide, expansive truth of your origin, fully prepared to embody unshakeable presence and hold space for collective transformation.

Where do you go from here?
The REMEMBRANCE journey provides a solid foundation as a ritual leader. After the summer 2027 intensive, participants who wish to deepen their leadership skills are invited to continue into the advanced training toward Ritual Arts Practitioner Certification. Whether you choose to work exclusively with women or you own community, the advanced training moves beyond foundational practices into the responsibilities of working with others.
In the advanced training, we will cover:

The online journey culminates in an (optional) in-person gathering, Daughters of Tenbalu: HOMECOMING.
Over a restorative weekend, women will gather for nature connection, ritual, storytelling and elemental practice. It will be a time to embody the learning of the online circle and be held in the warmth of sacred community. Details, location, and separate registration information will be shared with participants.

This is a space for adult women, including cisgender and transgender women. Our intention is to create the comfort and safety that can come from gathering in a women-centered space, one where women can speak openly, be vulnerable, and explore their healing in community with one another. If this requirement is a concern, consider taking the Ritual Arts Facilitation: FOUNDATIONS training, which is open to all.
This is not intended as an introductory course to the Dagara tradition. While we draw wisdom from this tradition, we also draw from other traditions that are in alignment with the focus of this training.
No. this is a standalone training. Many participants enroll solely for personal growth, ancestral connection, and spiritual deepening. Certification is an optional continuation for those wishing to facilitate professionally.
The calls will be recorded and posted in the classroom file folder for later viewing. Even if you miss a session, you will still gain valuable insight from the recordings! Plus stay connected in the chatroom.
Because the in-person intensive is an integral part of this program, participants should plan to attend, especially if they wish to advance to certification. While it's not required to take the online class, the ritual experience cannot be duplicated online. Details regarding dates, cost and attendance requirements will be be posted on our calendar.
For full participation, registered participants will need to equip themselves with materials needed for class which will be sent to you after registration.

Your Instructor
Aamirah (she/her/hers) is a Diviner, Spiritual Healer, Ritual Leader, and Tenbalu Sob (shrine keeper). Aamirah trained extensively with Dagara elder Malidoma Somé; the Foundation for Shamanic Studies; the Arthur Ford International Academy of Mediumship, the Healing Mysteries at Delphi University. She also trained in Soul Detective work (Level III) with Barbara Stone, Ph., LISW, DCEP.
Aamirah currently coordinates and facilitates ritual intensives at the East Coast Village where she brings her passion and dedication to promoting ancestral wisdom to the modern world.
