The first kontomblé “merger” in North America was held at the East Coast Village many years ago. Elder Malidoma brought the medicine of the kontomblé to the West for the very first time, and a shrine (kontomblé cave) was constructed at what is now the Beer Diviner Brewery to facilitate this initiatory experience. It became necessary to relocate the K shrine on ECV Land, and this year we are committed to making that happen as Elder Malidoma requested.
