Robert Walker, MS, (he/him/his) is an initiated elder, gatekeeper for the Tingan Shrine (tingansob) and Ritual Leader, who studied and facilitated rituals with Elder Malidoma Somé since 1988. He is one of the founding members of the East Coast Village and currently leads the annual 5-day Ancestralization ritual at the ECV.
Robert has remained deeply committed to the traditional and spiritual wisdom of the Dagara people of West Africa. He believes that an understanding of the importance of reconnection to Ancestors should be brought to the Western world, where this wisdom has been lacking.
